Chore Quest is a chore chart and pocket-money board. Kids tick off jobs and earn points. Parents approve them and the money goes into Spend, Save and Give jars.
For families with kids aged 3 to 17. Use one shared tablet, or put it on every phone and tablet in the house.
Got an invite link from your family? Open it on this device and you're in.
Have a backup file?
Three steps. Setting up takes about two minutes.
Add each child, pick chores from a library sorted by age, and choose a 4-digit parent PIN.
On their own tablet or the family one. They get confetti, and the chore waits for a grown-up to check it.
Approve from your phone. Points turn into pocket money that splits into Spend, Save and Give.
A 40-second walkthrough with the example family: Mia ticks a chore, a parent approves it, her jar fills, then the rewards store, a shared list and the calendar.
Everything is saved in this browser on this device (its local storage). There's no account and no tracking. If you never turn on sharing, nothing leaves this device.
Use Settings › Backup to save a copy, because clearing your browser data deletes it.
Sharing sends your family's data to our sync server so your other devices can get it. It is locked with end-to-end encryption on your device first. The server stores scrambled data it can't read. The invite link holds the key, so only share it with family.
AI help is only used when you tap an AI button. "Suggest chores" sends the ages you type. "Weekly message" sends the child's age, that week's numbers and their savings goal (what it is and how much is left), with a placeholder instead of their name. No names, PINs or jar balances are sent. Everything works with AI off.
The PIN is stored as a scrambled code (a SHA-256 hash), never as the 4 digits. It keeps kids out of the parent screens on a shared tablet. It is not real security: someone determined who can get into the device's browser settings could get around it.
Yes, it's free and there's no account, email or sign-up. Open the page and start. You can add it to your home screen like an app.
Yes. Turn on sharing in Settings › Devices and sharing, then scan the QR code on each device. On the kid's device, tap their name when it asks who uses it. That device only shows that child's things. You'll see their ticks on your phone within a few seconds.
There's no right amount. Pick a rate your budget can handle and that feels fair for each child's age. You can pay per chore, convert points at a rate, or pay a set weekly allowance. For free money tips for kids, see Moneysmart from ASIC: https://moneysmart.gov.au
Chore Quest keeps track of what you owe. You hand over real cash or move it in your banking app on pay day, then tap Pay day to record it. It doesn't hold or move any money.
You choose a small weekly rate, like 1%. On pay day the Save jar earns that percentage of what's in it, so money left alone grows faster each week. It teaches compounding. You pay it, so pick a rate you're happy with.
It looks at each child's planned jobs for the week against a target for their age. The biggest job goes to whoever has the lightest load, and ties are picked at random. Then the wheel spins to show the answer.
Tap "Forgot PIN?" on the PIN screen. You'll be asked a grown-up check and can set a new PIN. Nothing else is deleted.
Yes. After the first visit, the app works without internet. If you share between devices, changes sync when you're back online.
